Clara Barton Neighborhood

The Clara Barton neighborhood is one of the original townsites for the City of Fargo, offering a predominantly residential environment. The neighborhood is bordered by the University Drive commercial corridor to the west, 13th Avenue to the north, and I-94 to the south, providing convenient access to major thoroughfares. To the east, residents enjoy access to Lindenwood Park, one of Fargo’s most cherished regional parks. Clara Barton is also home to the Fargo Water Treatment Plant (opened in 1997) and the Xeriscape garden, both located in the northwest corner of the neighborhood. Nativity School is situated in the southwest corner, while the nearby campuses of Essentia and Sanford Health on University Drive serve the area’s healthcare needs. The neighborhood is named after Clara Barton Elementary School, located at 6th Street and 14th Avenue South, adding a historic and community-focused aspect to this central Fargo area.
